When it comes to raising his 4-month-old daughter, MGK gives all of the credit to his ex Megan Fox.
On Thursday, Aug. 7, the rapper and actor, 35, appeared on Today with Jenna and Friends to talk about his upcoming album Lost Americana. While speaking with host Jenna Bush Hager, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, opened up about how life with his daughter Saga, 4 months, has been.
“It’s awesome. I want to detract all of the congrats to me and just move it to Megan because she really does all the work. I keep getting called ‘The Music Teacher,’ ” he said. “Someone the other day was like, ‘You’re such a good dad!’ Just because I was holding the baby. And she was fuming, like, ‘No, no, no, no.’ She’s the one. I just play the guitar and pray that the baby is happy.”
On March 27, MGK welcomed his second daughter, his first with Fox, sharing the exciting news on his Instagram as he posted a video of himself with his newborn daughter. In the black-and-white video, Kelly could be seen holding his baby daughter’s hand, stroking her fingers.
“She’s finally here!! our little celestial seed 🥹💓♈️♓️♊️,” Kelly wrote in the caption. “3/27/25.”
Fox and MGK, who got engaged in January 2022, called it quits at the end of November, not long after announcing their baby on the way. MGK is also dad to daughter Casie, 16, with his ex Emma Cannon.
The dad of two is embracing this new journey with his little one and is already planning playdates with his friend Pete Davidson.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, MGK talked about some of his and the Saturday Night Live alum’s plans as dads with their children close in age. However, the Lost Americana artist told host Jimmy Fallon that they have to clear their plans with the moms first.
“I feel like me and him always talk about, like, ‘Won’t it be great to just be walking our babies down in strollers?’ And I’m like, ‘You know, I don’t think Megan and Elsie are ever gonna let us,’ ” he told host Jimmy Fallon. “I think that they would be in their heads thinking that we would be looking at the baby and go, ‘Okay. What do we do?'”
He continued joking, “[And, that] the diapers end up on our heads or something.”

While answering questions in Today’s 8 Before 8, the Beyond the Lights star shared who named each of his daughters. MGK said that he didn’t name his older daughter, but picked the name for his youngest.
“Well, I lost the first one and won the second one,” he said. “When you are 18 years old and you go to her mother and you go ‘What if we named our kid, Kid?’ It’s like, I get why she’s like ‘Hey man, shut up.'”
