Michelle Obama is sporting a new look.
The former first lady revealed on the Wednesday, Feb. 11, episode of her IMO podcast, that she recently got 10 new ear piercings "in one sitting."
Michelle, 62, was chatting with her brother and co-host Craig Robinson about her decision to get the new jewelry.
At the start of their episode, they chatted about things they’ve learned about one another since starting the podcast. Robinson, 63, cheekily said, “What I've learned is that you tried to get your ears pierced and thought I didn't notice. And I see you got all these new piercings in your ear.”
Michelle then retorted, “I don’t think you noticed.” The two siblings then quipped back and forth before Michelle explained her recent decision.
“I have always thought about getting some extra piercings in my ear and just never got around to it,” she said. “I had a second [piercing] hole that I had got before I had kids. But then I just got lazy and stopped putting an earring in it.”

“But nowadays, the young people in my life are doing more piercings. There's just more beautiful adornment,” Michelle said as she showed off her piercing. “You see more of a cluster, a constellation, with twinkles.”
Robinson then asked how many she had, and Michelle said, “I was going in for a few.” But then as she sat there, she was telling the piercer, “ ‘Oh, put one there and put one [there]. Oh yeah, let's try one there.’ ”
“So in one sitting, I've got 10 piercings,” she said, and Robinson joked, “Ouch.” Michelle reassured him, “[It] wasn't bad at all.”
“If I didn't like it, you know, I would say,” Robinson said.
“I know,” Michelle joked back. “Barack, [it] took him a couple of days.”
“He was like, ‘You haven't had your hair up, you've had your hair down.’ And I was like, ‘I don't know. I like sleep with you every night, dude, you know?’ ”
She revealed it ultimately took him three days to notice her piercings. Don't tell him that I noticed before him,” Robinson said, before Michelle noted, “I think I did.”

In November, Michelle spoke with PEOPLE about her new coffee-table style book, The Look, and discussed how her physical appearance was perceived and criticized while she was first lady.
She opened up about her new “freedom" to wear what she wants, including wearing her favorite hairstyle, braids.
"Braids allow me to get them done, and then that’s one less thing that I have to think about. When I’m out of the public eye, I am swimming, I am playing tennis, and braids represent that kind of freedom for me,” she told PEOPLE.
"I wasn’t sure whether the country was ready for it," she said of opting not to wear the hairstyle during her husband's two terms as President. "The Crown Act [which protects employees and students from race-based hair discrimination] hadn’t been passed yet, and just like fashion, I didn’t want my hair to become a distraction."
