Miley Cyrus Reunites with Movie-Mom Demi Moore at the 2025 Golden Globes 13 Years After LOL

In a fan-captured video from the 2025 Golden Globe Awards red carpet, Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore had a sweet reunion 13 years after they worked together on the rom-com LOL.

In the video, Cyrus, 32, blows kisses at Moore as she walked by, and the Substance star stops to greet the Grammy winner.

The actresses gave each other kisses on both cheeks before taking a photo, and Moore’s custom Giorgio Armani Privé strapless champagne silk gown was on display in the video as she posed with her hand on her hip. Cyrus wore black sunglasses that matched her slinky and glittery Gucci dress as she smiled for the photo.

In the 2012 film, Moore, 62, played the mom to Cyrus’ high schooler Lola, whose nickname was “Lol,” hence the title. Cyrus was only 17 years old when she filmed the movie, which also starred Douglas Booth, Ashley Greene and Jay Hernandez, and it was a bonding experiencing for her and Moore.

Calling the filming process “dope” in a Rolling Stone interview following the film’s release, Cyrus said of her bond with Moore, “I think we needed each other at that point. We both needed to get out of L.A.”

She also said that working on the movie in Detroit was “where I felt like I really grew up,” even though she was only there “for a summer.”

“That’s where I started going to clubs, where I got my first tattoo. Well, not my first tattoo, but my first without my mom’s consent. I got it on 8 Mile! I lied to the guy and told him I was 18. I got a heart on my finger and wore a Band-Aid for two months so my mom wouldn’t find out.”

LOL is not the only thing the stars have in common — they’re both nominated at tonight’s award show.

Cyrus was nominated for the song she wrote for Pamela Anderson’s The Last Showgirl ,“Beautiful That Way,” while Moore was nominated for her role in The Substance.

Following her nomination, Cyrus wrote on Instagram that it was an “honor” as she thanked everyone involved in the song and the film, and gave a particular shoutout to Anderson, who is a serious awards contender for the first time in her 35 years in Hollywood.

“Pamela is graciously sharing her moment with us. I am continuing to root for her; it’s so fun to watch her shine,” she wrote. “Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be a part of your gem The Last Showgirl.”
