Millie Bobby Brown‘s love for animals inadvertently sparked rumors that she was expecting a baby with husband Jake Bongiovi.
During the Monday, March 10, episode of the “Smartless” podcast, Brown, 21, recalled the efforts she has gone through to help raise farm animals at home. “Jake had to kind of drill the line at some point because we were bringing in these goats that sleep in our bed,” she admitted.
Brown said the goats were so young they “were in diapers.”
“They sleep with me at night because I have to take care of them because they’re babies,” she noted. “They were basically babies. So I would sleep with them and Jake [but they] would be in the middle. Basically Jake would get up and do a shift and then I would get up and do a shift.”

Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, are ready to walk their whirlwind romance down the aisle. The Stranger Things star announced her engagement to Bongiovi via Instagram in April 2023 after two years together. “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” […]
The only downside was the speculation that started as a result. “In my community, people started thinking I was pregnant because I was buying bottles and nappies and all the things,” she recalled. “Then [the goats would] reach around, like, eight weeks old and then they’re full grown. They want to go outside so then I had to put them outside.”
While Brown doesn’t keep the goats in her bed for long, there are other animals always in the home.
“I have 25 dogs — but on top of the 10. So the 25 live outside but I have a shed. And I rescue dogs off of the street,” she explained. “[Jakes] knows how much I love animals [but] we drew the line. Actually, he said no more. But he does allow farm animals and he enjoys it as much as I do.”
Brown and Bongiovi, 22, met on Instagram. “I was curious about him and wanted to learn more,” she told The Sunday Times in August 2023. “From our very first chat, I knew he was going to play a significant role in my life. After we met, it was clear we never wanted to be apart.”
The actress has praised Bongiovi for supporting her no matter what.
“When I met Jake, I just felt I could be loud. He embraced that and encouraged that. And I fell in love with myself while being with him,” Brown told Glamour in October 2023. “He was a really big, huge part of me loving myself and becoming a woman. It was like, ‘Wow, I really love this person because he allows me to love myself.’”
After two years of dating, the couple tied the knot in May 2024 and moved to a farm in Georgia. “I’m not doing it for the aesthetic,” Brown told Vanity Fair last month. “I’m doing it because I love it.”
Brown discussed her love for farm life — despite not identifying with the “trad wife” trend.
“There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not,” Brown continued. “If you’re not picking up horse s–t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”
The change of pace was an upside for Bongiovi as well. “We were pretty united going into it,” she added. “We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want. It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.”
