Miranda Kerr and Katy Perry are co-parenting queens.
During a Tuesday, Oct. 7, appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends, the 42-year-old Australian model weighed in on her longstanding friendship with the pop star, 40, as they navigate coparenting. Both Kerr and Perry each share a child with their mutual ex, Orlando Bloom.
“Having love and respect for each other is so important,” Kerr said.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel added, “Everyone’s human, and that’s important to really put the children first and what’s the best needs of the children and how do we make everyone feel accepted and loved.”
Kerr was married to the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 48, from 2010 to 2013. They welcomed son Flynn Christopher, 14, in 2011. She has since remarried to Evan Spiegel, with whom she shares sons Hart, 7, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 19 months.
As for Perry and the Lord of the Rings actor, the pair were together for nine years, but ended their engagement in June. The “One That Got Away” singer and Bloom are parents to daughter Daisy Dove, 5.
“At the end of the day, we’re all human and we’re all trying to be the best versions of ourselves. Why not be good examples for our children?” Kerr added on Today.
Perry and Kerr’s co-parenting relationship has gone smoothly for years, with the ladies speaking highly of each other often. Kerr even said that her relationship with Bloom is almost comparable to siblings.
“We go on holidays together. We celebrate all the important milestones together,” the KORA Organics founder said of her friendship with Perry during an August 2021 episode of the Moments with Candace Parker podcast. “I love her. I mean, it’d be safe to say that I love her more than Flynn’s dad.”
Next, Kerr shared her status with Bloom.
“He’s, like, to me right now, a brother. And most of the time, an annoying brother,” the model and mother of four joked, adding that the “Hot N Cold” singer “helps me deal with him.”
Before the podcast wrapped, Kerr also looked back on her first time meeting Perry, which she remembered as pleasant.

“When Orlando started dating Katy, I remember he invited me over one time and she was there, and we just immediately got along,” Kerr said. “I saw how she was with Flynn. She was very playful with Flynn. She was not trying to be his mum. She was just being friendly and fun, and that’s all you can ask for.”
“We hung out by the pool at his house in Malibu and then there was like a little party up the road, and we all went to it together and it was like, ‘Oh, this is great!'” she added.
In 2023, Perry shared a social media post in which she called Kerr her “sister from another mister.”
