Mod Sun has come to Camila Cabello’s defense after photos of a seemingly near-empty concert went viral.
A photo of Cabello, 27, singing at a venue with unfilled seats has been circulating on X since Monday, January 20.
“99% percent of artists would’ve cancelled the show + put out a ‘mental health’ statement,” Mod Sun, 37, wrote on X on Tuesday, January 21.
“She just gained my respect by still performing. That show meant the world to the people in the crowd that night. EMPTY SHOWS ARE STILL SHOWS,” he wrote.

The rapper’s statement was in response to an X user who posted an image of Cabello’s show with the caption: “CAMILA CABELLO EMPTY ARENA SHOW LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
The image was taken during Cabello’s headlining set at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, January 19, according to multiple outlets including Page Six and Daily Mail.
The X user who shared the original post questioned why the former Fifth Harmony singer didn’t cancel the show. They also shared a screenshot of the available seats, claiming that around 30% of the tickets had sold out.
Us Weekly has reached out to Cabello’s reps for comment. Though the star hasn’t publicly addressed the photo, she did share a sweet message to her fans via Instagram on Tuesday, January 21.
“The people who I’ve chosen to be a fan of, since I was 12 to now, from musicians to authors to painters, have made me who I am,” Cabello wrote. “Being a fan is a transformative and creative and sacred endeavour. And the artist who gives to their community also gets, in the form of love, inspiration, and trust.”
“I’m honored to be that for you. It’s one of the sweetest relationships I’ve known. I have fans that have been more loving, loyal, and ride or die than people in my real life,” she continued.
“Make no mistake, regardless of distance and time apart and proximity, the love in that room, the love between us is very real. I feel it too, I hold it close to my heart like a little light on a dark night. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow,” she wrote.
