Ever since Spanx sent me a pair to test in 2022, the wide-leg pants have been my absolute favorite. The silky-smooth fabric feels so luxurious and gives them a dressier look, which is why they’ve been my go-to plane pants. Thanks to the roomy silhouette, I can easily bunch them up my legs if I’m too hot (and no, I don’t care if it looks silly).
I already owned them in shade “very black” and bought a pair in faded indigo (which is no longer available) for myself and my mom, both of which I wore when traveling during the holidays. My mom, who loves to be comfortable but look put together, actually had a sneaking suspicion that’s what I bought her because I’ve raved about them nonstop, so she was very excited to have her own.

As for my sister and sister-in-law, I chose different colors of the now sold-out track pants, since they were (and still are!) a popular style — and these barrel-leg pants are another trendy option from the AirEssentials collection. They’re made from the same soft and lightweight material but have a few key differences, like the cropped length and more slim-fitting silhouette, which is a huge benefit in my opinion, since I’d wear them to work.

My sister texted me, completely unprompted, to tell me how much she’s already loving her track pants. In her dramatic words: “I want to live and die in these pants; they are so soft.”
