Dennis Rodman and his youngest daughter, Trinity, have had ups and downs over the years.
Rodman and ex-wife Michelle Moyer welcomed Trinity in 2002, one year after the birth of son DJ. (Rodman also shares eldest daughter Alexis with ex-wife Annie Bakes.)
More than 20 years later, Trinity declared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that the NBA legend was “not a dad” to her.
“Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” she said in December 2024. “ I don’t want to say negatively, but more realistic about it. We tried to be that foundation and to be the good people around him. Because in reality, we never really asked for anything unless we really needed it. … He’s never understood that people could actually just want to be around him and to just want to make him happy.”

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Dennis Rodman has confronted his inner “demons” about parenthood through the years. “I think the only major demon I have right now is trying to convince myself that I’m a good dad,” Rodman said during a 2020 ESPN interview. “It’s very hard for me to try to break out of that […]
According to Trinity, Rodman’s lifestyle impacted his ability to be a good husband and father.
“We tried to live with him, but he’s having parties 24/7. He’s bringing random bitches in,” she claimed. “My mom didn’t want — she was strong enough to deal with it because even to this day, I still believe that my dad hasn’t loved anyone after my mom. I think my mom just saw the situation of, ‘We love each other. It’s not gonna work, or my kids, I can’t have them seeing you treat me this way, embarrass me this way and have the party scene all the time.’”
After Moyer and Rodman split, the kids primarily resided with their mother.

2012
After Rodman and Moyer finalized their divorce, DJ and Trinity primarily lived with their mom.
“We were seeing him once, two, three, four times a year,” Trinity recalled on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in 2024. “Every time they were together, it was the same s—. It was my mom being valid and ‘What the f— are you doing? Help us and help your children.’”
At one point, Trinity claimed that her family lived in a car because Rodman stopped financially providing for them.
“That was all the fight was ever about, in front of us at least,” she said. “It was just the money party and helping your children.”
Later that year, Rodman was ordered to pay Moyer $500,000 in back child support.

Rodman attended one of Trinity’s pro soccer matches during her rookie year with the Washington Spirit. While they were photographed hugging ahead of the match, she later broke down in tears.
“I think it’s like halfway through the first half and I hear [his voice],” she recalled on her “Call Her Daddy” episode. “I’m like, ‘Oh my f—ing gosh, like, there’s no way this is happening right now.’ Mind you, I haven’t seen him in or talked to him in months. “I love you, dad,” she wrote via Instagram.
December 2024
During Trinity’s “Call Her Daddy” appearance, she claimed that Rodman resumed communication earlier that year.
“I answer the phone now for my conscience. If something does happen, God forbid, I want to know that I did that,” she said. “Or if he needed to hear my voice before anything happens. That’s why I answer the phone, not for me.”
Trinity’s claims sparked a response from Rodman, who apologized in a lengthy Instagram note.
“Sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still try and never will stop. I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls,” he wrote. “I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time. I’m always here and tell you all the time, whether it’s your voice or voicemail, how proud I am.”
Rodman added, “I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully, one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying to pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here.”
In response to Rodman’s message, Trinity alleged it was all done for “the attention.”
“Wiping my hands with it. I’m done,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Thank you.”
