Nelly Furtado is sending a message to her body shamers!
The “Say It Right” singer, 46, said plenty to her critics without uttering a word when she performed during Manchester Pride in England on Sunday, Aug. 24.
Photos showed the Canadian singer-songwriter seemingly responding to negative comments about her weight by wearing an oversized T-shirt with a woman’s body drawn on it.
Her white top featured a woman’s body scaled to her own from the neck to mid-thigh.
The drawn body wore a white, cropped tank top with a black push-up bra underneath. The woman’s mid-section was fully visible as the design led down to a drawn-on denim mini skirt.
The faux lady accessorized with a large, bedazzled gold belt with the words “Whoa Nelly” on the heart-shaped buckle, teamed with several necklaces.
As for Furtado, she finished the look with sparkly fishnet stockings, hot pink fingerless moto gloves, and a pair of colorful boots that came just below her knees.
The “Maneater” singer has seemingly been tuning out the naysayers for a while, choosing instead to focus on self-love.
At the start of the year, she shared a body-positive post on social media with a set of snaps of herself taking selfies while rocking a bright orange bikini.
“HAVE A BODY NEUTRAL 2025, 😉, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, LOVE WITH EVERY INCH OF YOUR HEART ♥️,” Furtado wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption on Jan. 5.
After noting that she had to “pursue some legal action” against false claims made online about her, the “I’m Like a Bird” hitmaker set the record straight “for whoever cares.”
“I have never had any face or body surgeries or augmentation, besides for veneers on the top row of my teeth , quite recently,” she wrote, also denying having any type of “face or lip injections or fillers.”
Her secret to her youthful appearance is drinking lots of water and sleeping on her back, Furtado said.
The Grammy winner also shared her photogenic secrets, which included face tape to give her eyes “more lift,” and “body tape to give a certain look to different silhouettes.”
“My New Year’s message for 2025, is express yourself freely , celebrate your individuality and know that it’s perfectly OK to be OK with what you see in the mirror , and it’s also OK to want something different . We are all cute little humans just bouncing around the earth looking for hugs,” she continued in her Jan. 5 post.
In September 2024, Furtado spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about how photographers would edit not only her body shape, but the color of her skin in the early 2000s.

“I have olive skin, and they’d kind of lighten my skin a lot in photos,” she told PEOPLE, “and kind of take my hips down all the time — they would always cut off in editorials.”
However, Furtado still considered herself “one of the lucky ones,” who had a good team around her that showed her how to be assertive.
“You have to kind of have that sense of self. I think it’s important, to navigate the industry. You have to kind of listen to the tiny voice inside. That’s really important,” she said.
