NEED TO KNOW

  • Courtney Reese, 36, disappeared after being dropped off at a laundromat in Donelson, Tennessee on Aug. 18
  • The 36-year-old’s mother, Bonnie Oliver, said Reese has a 3-month-old boy, and wouldn’t have willingly left her child
  • “She has to come home. He’s too important, and I know he’s important to her,” Oliver said

A Tennessee mother’s family is tirelessly searching for her after she went missing from a laundromat nearly three weeks ago.

Courtney Reese, 36, of Lebanon, Tenn., and a mother to a 3-month-old, was dropped off outside the Loads of Clothes laundromat in Donelson on Aug. 18 around 1 p.m. local time, according to a missing persons post by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. She later tried calling people to see if they could pick her up, but no one was available at the time.

That was the last time Reese was seen, according to NBC affiliate WSMV. Reese has black hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and jean shorts.

Reese’s mother, Bonnie Oliver, told ABC affiliate WKRN that she last heard from her daughter at 5:52 p.m. that day, when she asked her for a ride home.

Oliver said she felt “responsibility” for the situation because she wasn’t free to pick up Reese at the time.

“At that moment, I couldn’t [go],” she said, “and I regret it, because I always go. No matter where my kids are, if they need me, I go.”

Oliver added that Reese gave birth to a healthy baby boy three months ago on her birthday, May 23.

After experiencing three miscarriages, Oliver said she doesn’t believe her daughter would willingly leave her child.

“She has to come home,” her mom said. “He’s too important, and I know he’s important to her. I know that without a shadow of a doubt.”

On Sunday, Sept. 6, nearly three weeks after Reese was last seen, a volunteer search party searched a wooded area after receiving a tip about a bad odor, according to WKRN. Joined by a cadaver dog, the team set out on foot but didn’t find Reese, and organizers believe the scent ultimately came from an animal.

A $2,500 reward has been offered for information leading to Reese, the outlet reported.

“Every day I wake up and call her phone,” Oliver added. “I always said this has to be the worst thing, not knowing where your child is or family member.”

Anyone who has any information related to Reese’s whereabouts is asked to reach out to Metro Nashville Police.
