Nick Lachey Says He and Vanessa Have a ‘Very Stiff Drink’ After ‘Love Is Blind’ Reunions (Exclusive)

Nick Lachey is opening up about how he and wife Vanessa Lachey unwind after those (sometimes contentious) Love is Blind reunions.

“A very stiff drink after the reunion,” Nick, 51, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, May 8, of how he and his better half Vanessa, 44, handle the live Netflix show.

“The reunion, as you can imagine, that’s a stressful day,” he continued. “And there’s a lot of emotions, obviously, that goes into that show. So yeah, we definitely reward ourselves with a martini after. Definitely.”

He added, “It’s called a martini shot for a reason. You move on.”

Nick and Vanessa have hosted the hit reality dating series since its inaugural season in February 2020. The show, which tests whether or not people looking for romance can fall in love sight unseen, has gone on to launch eight successful seasons, a few successful relationships and countless viral moments.

“I think the beauty of the show is that you don’t know who’s going to fall in love with who, because you don’t know who’s going to connect on that really kind of organic level that they do on the show,” Nick explained. “So there [have] been some surprises to me. I’m like, ‘Wow, I didn’t see that coming.’ And thankfully we’ve had a huge success rate. I think we’ve only had two divorces over the course of eight incredible seasons.”

He continued, “Obviously it’s a TV show. We love being on a show that’s successful, but the real success stories are the people [who] are still together and really, truly found what they were looking for and still have a beautiful, beautiful marriage.”

While the show has undoubtedly sparked countless conversations and produced endless controversial onscreen moments, Nick told Us that he doesn’t believe hosting the show has changed his marriage offscreen.

A believer in the process! Nick Lachey is happily married to Vanessa Lachey, but if he wasn’t, he wouldn’t hesitate to try out for Love Is Blind. “I would. I mean, it’s fascinating,” the 98 Degrees singer, 48, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the Netflix series’ season 2 premiere. “Especially having seen the success […]

“I don’t think we’ve changed anything,” he said. “I think what it does is it is refreshing to be around people falling in love. It kind of takes you back to your own story and reminds you of how it was right there in the beginning, when you find that person that you love so dearly. So, it’s great to be around that kind of an atmosphere and it’s refreshing.”

Nick went on to add that “the more you talk about relationships,” whether it’s on Love is Blind or his equally successful Netflix show The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, the more those discussions serve as a reminder of what’s important in a long-lasting relationship.

“It’s almost like therapy for us, to talk about it in that way,” he continued. “So it’s been good.”
