Noah Cyrus’ sophomore album is on the way.
On Monday, June 16, the singer-songwriter announced the release of her new LP I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me.
“For a long time, I couldn’t really trust in my own choices,” Noah, 25, shared in a press release statement. “I had to learn how to make decisions for myself and make that transition into adulthood.”
She continued: “But I’ve found who I am, I know who I am, and this record shows what I had inside me all this time. This album is me.”
In the statement, Noah said that she wants fans to find “a sense of comforting, peaceful nostalgia.”
“That’s something that I feel so heavily when I listen to music,” she added. “We all want to connect with our past while also being aware of the present moment.”
Noah concluded: Music does that for me, and this collection of songs was made with that in mind. I want to evoke that feeling of a comforting friend that a song can be — and allow us all to heal.”
The 11-track album, which she collaborated on with Mike Crossey and PJ Harding, is due on RECORDS/Columbia Records and will feature collaborations with Fleet Foxes, Ella Langley, Blake Shelton and Bill Callahan.
The project also features “With You,” the very first song Noah’s father Billy Ray Cyrus, ever wrote
“My dad is one of my biggest influences,” she said in a statement. “He turned me on to so many great songs and artists. My musical inspirations came from somewhere, and more often than not, it’s been him.”
According to the press release, the record will feature themes of family and nature alongside Noah’s “immersive interpretation of country music.”
Alongside the album announcement, Noah revealed she will be heading out on tour throughout North America this fall.
