A Reddit user revealed that her boyfriend is jealous because she provides care to male patients as a nursing student

A boyfriend is being unreasonable about his girlfriend’s work.
The woman, a nursing student, explained on Reddit’s “Am I the A——?” forum that he is jealous about her providing care to male patients.
“I am beginning to use the skills I practiced in lab on actual patients now,” she wrote. “When I told him I performed a catheter insertion on a male and told him the procedure, he proceeded to get extremely upset with me.”
She added that her boyfriend then “said some hurtful things as jokes.”
His reaction surprised her as she thought he would be excited for her.
“I attempted to talk things out with him in the moment, but he ended up kicking me out of his house,” she said. “I did end up talking to him the following day, and he stated he didn’t like hearing about the stories at my job and to keep it among my classmates.”
The boyfriend also tried to flip the script on her.
“He compared it to if he had a job where he grabbed women’s breasts,” she recalled, adding that his job “is nothing similar to what I do as a job — they’re not even remotely the same in any circumstance.”

Pondering if she did anything wrong, the nursing student asked the forum, “Am I the a——] for sharing my experiences with my boyfriend?”
One Redditor commenting, “You’re not the a——, but he is. You might want to find someone who understands it’s your job. By which I mean find an adult, not an insecure and controlling little boy.”
Most people agreed, with another person replying, “He sounds like a child. Break up with him if that’s how he reacts to you doing your literal job.”
A third person added, “If he is that immature to think there is anything remotely sexy about anything you do as a nurse, then I think it’s time to give him the heave ho.”
