- A bible Robert Kardashian Sr. gave to O.J. Simpson before his death has sold at auction.
- The item featured an inscription from the late lawyer, who represented Simpson during his infamous murder trial.
- Robert’s daughter, Kim Kardashian, previously offered to pay $15,000 for the family heirloom.
O.J. Simpson’s bible, which was gifted to him and features an inscription by Robert Kardashian Sr., has officially sold at auction.
After Kim Kardashian was turned down when attempting to buy the historic book signed by her late father for an offer of $15,000, the bible sold on Saturday, March 29, shortly after 11 p.m. local time for a winning bid of $65,800 — or $80,276 with its buyer’s premium — according to its listing on Goldin Auctions’ website.
Per Goldin, 49 total bids were placed on the item, 14 of which came in during its final day of availability.
Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, told TMZ — which first reported the news of the sale — that he didn’t know the identity of the winning bidder.
PEOPLE has reached out to Goldin Auctions and LaVergne for more information on the bible sale on Sunday, March 30.
LaVergne — who is selling Simpson’s assets to pay off leftover debts — previously told PEOPLE that while Kim, 44, reached out to offer $15,000 for the bible inscribed by her father, the item was already under contract with the court to be auctioned off.
“The amount is why I had no choice, because why would I spend $15,000 of estate money — why would I spend $15,000 in attorney’s fees — to sell it to Kim for $15,000?” LaVergne told PEOPLE on March 14.
“That’s a zero-sum game. That’s a bad business model. If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would’ve been in court getting this approved outside of the auction,” he added. “Kim can bid on it online. She may even get it cheaper than the 15 grand, so who knows.”
The bible was part of Goldin’s O.J. Simpson Collection — which also includes clothing, trophies and a golf club set personally owned by the late star.

The book itself — listed by Goldin as the “Robert Kardashian Signed, Inscribed, Personally Owned ‘The Living Bible’ Given to OJ Simpson” — was signed by Kim’s father on June 18, 1994, the day after Simpson was arrested and charged with murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
It reads: “This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”
Robert acted as Simpson’s defense attorney in the infamous murder trial, in which Simpson was acquitted on all counts. The athlete was later found guilty in a civil trial in 1997.
Kim’s father died in September 2003 at the age of 59 after an esophageal cancer diagnosis. Simpson died in April 2024 from prostate cancer.
Kim — who previously passed the baby bar exam in 2021 — detailed in her 2020 Oxygen documentary, Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, how her legal work helped her feel connected to her late dad.
“There are times when I could be frustrated and studying really late and have to get up and wonder how he did it, having four kids and must’ve been going through some of the same things that I have gone through,” she said at the time. “So it would have been exciting to talk to him about that, and I know that he would be so, so proud.”
