If anyone knows what’s in and what’s out this spring, it’s street style star Olivia Palermo.
Palermo, 39, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her favorite fashion trends this season while chatting about her Metropolitan Museum of Art x Band-Aid Brand collab, which brings style, culture and art to bandages.
One of the It Girl’s must-haves is a Golden Goose Deluxe Brand Embellished Denim Blouse ($827.37) and the brand’s Bleached Jeans with Cabochon Crystals ($1,350).
“Denim is so specific because you look at the time period of it, whether it’s the ’60s, the ’70s, the ’80s, the ’90s, 2000s, to now, it doesn’t matter, it’s very specific,” she said of the embellished jeans. “So you have to be very committed to that.”

When it comes to her personal style, Palermo describes herself as “electric” and “tailored,” which her many fashion-loving followers can clearly see through her vibrant use of color, bold patterns and crisp power suits. Every so often, she’ll even go the extra mile just to make sure she sets herself apart from her similarly stylish husband, Johannes Huebl, on their date nights.
“No, no, no. We don’t do [coordinating] date-night outfits,” Palermo told Us, sharing that they have accidentally matched once or twice because they “rub off” on each other. “We tend to be like an old couple where we end up being in the same color because that’s what happens,” she quipped. “We like to make sure that we don’t look like we’re twinning.”
Palermo also told Us all of her hot takes on the spring 2025 top trends, including polished yet practical kitten heels, Western-inspired everything and more.
Her ins include gingham, when it’s “done in the right proportion,” and “in moderation,” animal prints, which she considers to be “neutrals,” skinny jeans and sexy corporate wear — when it’s appropriate.
One of Palermo’s outs is capris. “No thanks,” she said of the fleeting current fad while shrugging off the ultra-cropped silhouette. Another is athleisure, which she hilariously described as “ath-lazy.”
When it comes to wide-leg pants and low-rise jeans, Palermo said a properly tailored fit and accessories are key to elevating the look as much as possible.
The entrepreneur also gushed about unveiling her collab with Band-Aid, sharing that she “loves” the collection and has ever since she was a young girl and grew up going to The Met.
The line features artworks including The Great Wave, The Lake at Hakone in Sagami Province and Yellow Chrysanthemums on a Blue Ground by Katsushika Hokusai printed on not just bandages but also tote bags.
“I’m really excited to be here in New York tonight celebrating the Met and Band-Aid brand,” she excitedly told Us the night of the launch. “I absolutely love the collaboration … and for someone who grew up in New York, I love the Met and I love art.” She continued, “Everybody needs art in their home; it’s the same thing with fashion, your eye is always evolving. I think it’s absolutely perfect for the younger generation to have a little bit of art they can wear and feel stylish.”
