Jade Carey is ready to share the love in her life!
On Wednesday, March 19, the Olympic gymnast, 24, revealed in a sweet Instagram post that she has a girlfriend, Aimee Sinacola.
The post — which featured several adorable photos of Carey and Sinacola posing together — also marked the first time Carey has spoken out about her sexuality.
“happy 🤍🔐✨💌,” the gold medalist captioned her post, which featured a full-length mirror selfie of the couple posing together, a selfie taken with a dock in the background and another photo of the couple sitting together as they go shopping.
The final photo in the post showed Carey riding on her girlfriend’s back as she sports a Team USA shirt — and holds her Olympic gold medal for the camera as they both grin.
Tons of Carey’s fellow gymnasts and other Olympians comments on the heartfelt post to show their support, including superstar teammate Simone Biles, 28, who wrote that the newly-announced couple were “freaking cuuuuuute❤️,” as well as pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik, 26, who celebrated his fellow gymnast’s relationship with a comment that read: “GO JADE!!!”
Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles — who was just honored with Barbie dolls alongside Carey in honor of International Women’s Day earlier this month — both shared their excitement at their teammate’s relationship, writing in the comment section “angels 🥹” and “Periodt!!!!❤️” respectively.
The Team USA gymnastics account even chimed in underneath the post to share their well-wishes for the Olympian, writing: “always applauding your authenticity. 🫶”

Additionally, Sinacola, whose Instagram bio states that she is the director of creative content for the University of Oregon’s athletics department, shared several sweet posts to her Instagram Stories following Carey’s announcement, including a repost that simply stated, “ILY.”
Sinacola also uploaded a video of her girlfriend taken at the 2024 Paris Olympics to her Stories, and captioned the clip: “That’s my girl.”
Another one of Sinacola’s reposts directly discussed the couple’s willingness to be candid about their sexuality, as a caption underneath Carey’s original post read: “Representation & Visibility are so important. Sport will always be a catalyst for change & inclusion.”
“Takes folks being brave & their most authentic selves in these spaces,” the caption continued. “Proud of you @jadecarey & beyond happy for you & @aimee_sinacola.”
Last year, Carey helped to secure the gold medal in the women’s artistic gymnastics team final at the Paris Olympics. She also took home an individual bronze medal in vault, scoring a 14.466 and placing just behind her behind teammate Biles and silver medalist Rebeca Andrade of Brazil.
