More than 10 million grill brushes have been recalled by Nexgrill due to ingestion hazards
The “small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to the grill or food, posing an ingestion hazard or risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said
The affected products were sold in stores at Home Depot and online on the retailer’s website from 2015 to 2025, ranging in price between $5 and $15
More than 10 million grill brushes have been recalled due to ingestion hazards.
Grill manufacturer Nexgrill recalled approximately 10.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes on Thursday, March 26, stating that the "small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to the grill or food, posing an ingestion hazard or risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery,” according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Nexgrill is aware of at least 68 cases in which small wire bristles “detached from the grill brushes," the CPSC said, including "five reports of consumers who swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove the bristles from their digestive tract or throat.”
The six models — which have model numbers 530-0024, 530-0024G, 530-0034, 530-0039, 530-0041 and 530-0042 — are metal wire bristle grill brushes with black plastic or wood handles, measuring between 18 and 21 inches long.
The affected products were sold in stores at Home Depot and online on the retailer's website from 2015 to 2025, ranging in price between $5 and $15.

Consumers with affected products are being told to immediately stop using the recalled grill brushes and contact Nexgrill for a full refund, which will be issued as a gift card.
As part of the recall process, consumers will be provided a registration code, and they will be asked to upload a photograph of their grill brush and their initials to the recall website to register.
Nexgrill did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request to comment on Saturday, March 28.
