Ozzy Osbourne returned to where it all began to perform with the band that put him and heavy metal on the map.
On Saturday, July 5, the 76-year-old rocker took the stage for his final performance with Black Sabbath at England’s Villa Park while sitting on a bat-themed throne with a skull design on each arm rest.
Osbourne’s ability to stand and walk has been greatly affected by Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2019.
Jason Momoa and Steven Tyler were in attendance at the show.
As he sat in all-black attire, a montage of Osbourne’s onstage highlights from over the decades played on giant screens surrounding the stage, per fan-recorded footage shared to social media.
Called “Back to the Beginning,” the show took place in the rock band’s hometown of Birmingham, England, and also featured a who’s-who of rock icons such as Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer and more.
Black Sabbath performed “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man” and “Paranoid” — while Osbourne also performed solo songs such as “I Don’t Know,” “Mr. Crowley,” “Suicide Solution,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home” and “Crazy Train.”
His daughter, Kelly Osbourne, shared photos of the day on her Instagram Stories, including one of her and YUNGBLUD hanging out sidestage.

“Back to the Beginning” marks the group’s first performance since their The End Tour, which also concluded in Birmingham in 2017.
However, Ozzy did reunite with the band’s guitarist Tony Iommi for a performance at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, where the duo performed Black Sabbath classics “Paranoid” and “Iron Man.”
Osbourne recently opened up about “giving 120%” at his final concert on his show SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, which airs monthly on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard. “If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it,” he said at the time.
Osbourne explained that he hasn’t “done any physical work for the last seven [or so] years.”
“By hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it there,” he said. “I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”
Earlier this year, Osbourne confirmed via Billboard that he wouldn’t perform a full set with Black Sabbath, saying, “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”
Osbourne did not perform at his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2024 and had to cancel his last scheduled concert at the Power Trip festival in 2023.
