“There is a lot of control and ability in my father’s hands, ultimately this whole thing could be resolved through him,” he explained. “Not necessarily by intervening but by stepping aside and allowing the experts to do what is necessary and to carry on.”
Still, while Harry alluded to difficult times with his family—his and William’s former aide even shared insight into their estrangement recently—the security issue remains the only one important to him.
“There have been so many disagreements between me and some of my family,” he continued. “This current situation that has now been ongoing for about five years with regard to human life and safety is the sticking point. It is the only thing that is left.”
Harry, for his part, emphasized that there is “no point in continuing to fight.” As he put it, “Life is precious, I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
