Kate Middleton and Prince William are “very strict” when it comes to their kids using phones.

The Prince of Wales reveals that their three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — don’t have phones during a chat with actor Eugene Levy on the Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler.

After William tells the Schitt’s Creek star that “sleep” was a priority during his free time, the royal was asked if their family sits down to dinner together.

“Yep, absolutely; yep, definitely,” Prince William, 43, replies. “So we sit and chat, it’s really important. None of our children have any phones, which we’re very strict about.”

Levy, 78, says, “That is really interesting. So, if your kids don’t have phones to play with. What do they play with? What do they love doing?”

Prince William shares that Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte are both big fans of their trampoline.

“As far as I can tell, they just end up jumping up and down on the trampoline, beating each other up, most of the time,” the dad says. “Apparently, there is an art to it.”

The kids are also following in their parents’ athletic footsteps, with Charlotte playing netball and doing ballet, while George “loves” soccer and hockey.

William also makes a quip about another pursuit: music.

“They’re trying to learn musical instruments,” he says. “I’m not sure how successful we’re being with that.”

During their tour around Windsor Castle, Prince William also tells the actor about his own childhood memories — even in historic locations like St. George’s Hall.

“My cousins and I, and the family would chase each other up and down here and do silly games,” the royal recalls. “And I remember these carpets weren’t here, and there were a couple of spots where you used to have to watch out because you’d get massive splinters because the old floor was so, old wood and old oak floor.”

He continues, “Now, it’s a lot easier. My children don’t realize how lucky they are. They’ve got a big old carpet they can run down, and there’s no splinters.”

Levy also asks how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were affected by their mother’s cancer diagnosis last year (Kate announced she is in remission in January).

“Everyone has their own coping mechanisms for these sorts of things, and children are constantly learning and adapting,” Prince William replies.

“We try to make sure we give them the security and the safety that they need,” he adds. “And we’re a very open family, so we talk about things that bother us, and things that trouble us, but you never quite know the knock-on effects that it can have. And so, it’s just important to be there for each other and to kind of reassure the children that everything is okay.”
