Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi celebrated their fifth anniversary with their most down-to-earth couple’s photo yet.
On July 17, Edo posted a new photo with Beatrice on Instagram to commemorate their milestone wedding anniversary. The casual snap showed the couple standing together on a beach — Princess Beatrice, 36, going without makeup for the shot, while Edo, 41, posed barefoot.
“Happy 5th Anniversary to my incredible partner, the most beautiful and amazing wife. I cherish every moment we’ve spent together and am deeply grateful for our journey,” Edo wrote below the undated photo.
“Here’s to countless more years filled with laughter and tons of love!” he continued with a heart emoji, adding that the photo was taken in Scotland.
Beatrice and Edo wed on July 17, 2020, in a surprise royal wedding attended by her grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and more royal family members.
Although the couple planned to marry in May 2020, they postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Two months later, Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Beatrice and Edo quietly married in a “small ceremony” at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where Beatrice grew up. The wedding was held under government safety guidelines at the time, and Edo’s son from a previous relationship, Christopher Woolf, now 9, served as page boy and his father’s best man.
The couple went on to welcome two daughters: Sienna Elizabeth, 3, and Athena Elizabeth Rose, 5 months, who was born preterm in January. Both girls’ middle names of Elizabeth are interpreted as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth. Beatrice was known to be close to her grandmother, even wearing the monarch’s wedding tiara when she tied the knot.
Beatrice and Edo are not full-time working royals like her first cousin Prince William, but they are frequent fixtures at social and family events on the royal family’s calendar. The pair recently attended two days of Royal Ascot together in June, sharing a rare public kiss between horse races.

Edo is one of just a few members of the royal family to maintain a public, personal presence on social media, and he praised Beatrice for “bravely” sharing the story of Athena’s early arrival in an essay she wrote for British Vogue in March.
