Bronwyn Newport’s dog Claire has died.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star shared the sad news in an Instagram post, including a slideshow of sweet memories with her beloved dog.
Claire, who just turned 9 years old a few days ago, was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2024. She had been through two rounds of radiation and chemo, which Newport said she handled “like an absolute champ!”
Newport added that it recently became clear that the boxer dog was struggling with discomfort and pain. Thus, the reality star and her husband, Todd Bradley, made the “very hard decision” to opt for humane euthanasia to “let her rest,” Newport wrote in the post.
“Claire has been the heart and center of our family from the day she was gifted to us,” she continued. “Best friend to each human and dog in our house over the years, Claire was the alpha, the protector, the grumpiest goof, and the most lovable and loyal friend.”
Newport shared that Claire loved a cozy blanket and pajamas, as well as “long walkies,” rides in the car, and snacks.
Claire “mothered” the five other dogs, all boxers, in Newport’s home and also took on the role of emotional support pet to everyone in the household, according to the dog’s pet parents. Claire saw Newport through her engagement, wedding to Bradley, and several personal challenges and illnesses.
“I’m so grateful for her snuggles and farts, and for the steady and constant presence of support and love she has been to me, my husband, my daughter, my father, and every friend who ever came to our house whose lap she’d promptly climb onto!” Newport concluded.
In two Instagram Stories, Newport shared that she’s hosted a Galentine’s event for the last six or seven years — a project in which Claire was “always the best guest.” But with Valentine’s Day just a day away, Newport added that she couldn’t do a party without Claire this year.

“But we will be donating in her honor to the humane society. She wasn’t one of our rescues, but she raised all of our rescues!” Newport wrote. “If I had had an event this year, it would have benefitted them!”
She then asked her followers to consider donating or volunteering at a local shelter this week in honor of Claire.
