Riley Green is giving Adam Levine a run for his money.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Blinds continued on The Voice and Harmony McKee received chair turns from this year’s friendly foes: Green and Levine.
McKee, who’s from Tennessee, performed “Gunpowder & Lead” by Miranda Lambert for her audition and revealed it was her first time ever performing a country song. Then, the Maroon 5 frontman started skipping around his chair.
“The reason why I was so happy is not because I hate country music. I love country music and I love Riley. God, look at how handsome he is. I just think you can do anything. The power in your voice. Honestly, I think you’re one of the stronger singers that we’ve heard,” the “Sunday Morning” singer, 47, said.
Green, 37, added, “There’s something that really struck me about you saying that your grandaddy was your country music. Because of my relationship with my grandaddy, he loved Meryl Haggard, Johnny Cash, George Jones. That was where I went musically. The fact that you love rock and blues, Chris Stapleton is the best example in the world of taking something country and putting a blues feel on it. I don’t doubt that you’re gonna do well with it too so I would love to work with you.”

After taking a second to think about it, McKee chose Green as her coach.
“I’m so happy I got Harmony. She really made that song her own,” the “My Way” singer said. “The way she took over the stage, she’ll definitely be a big star. This victory is pretty sweet because there’s no better feeling than beating Adam.”
Before the season premiere of the show, the coaches sat down for a digital cover story interview with PEOPLE and Levine spoke to their friendship.
“We laughed a lot. One of the first things we all noticed was how quickly we just clicked into it,” he said. “We’ve done this enough times to know when it’s not like that. [This year] the chemistry was there.”

Levine and Green also opened up about their frenemy dynamic on the show.
“When we first started, I was like, ‘Riley, don’t f— with me,’ ” Levine said, as Green added: “I give him a hard time, and he gives me a hard time back. That’s what I want to watch. If I wasn’t here, I would want somebody with a cowboy hat to be giving Adam a hard time.”
“It’s always nice to have somebody with a cowboy hat giving Adam a hard time,” the “This Love” singer deadpanned back.
