Robert Irwin Reveals His Family ‘Had a Lot of Words’ on His Sexy Bonds Ad

Robert Irwin’s family had mixed feelings about his Bonds underwear campaign.

Robert, 21, the son of Terri Irwin and the late Steve Irwin, opened up about what his family members thought of his sexy ad while appearing on Today on Monday, May 5.

“Well, my family had a lot of words,” he explained of his viral campaign. “They were like, ‘Wow, [there are] some things we can’t unsee.’ But it was wonderful because Bonds, who’s like our massive, iconic underwear company in Australia, they came to me and said, ‘We want to do something that heroes Australian wildlife.’”

Robert, who is following in his dad’s conservation footsteps, gushed, “I’ve dedicated my life to conservation, to carrying on an important legacy, protecting our animals. And they said, ‘We want to showcase that, but you’re gonna be in your undies.’”

Robert was still in after learning that he would be stripping down for the campaign. “So I said, ‘You know what, let’s do it.’ Life’s about just embracing it. So it was fun.”

In his steamy photoshoot, which launched last month, Robert wore several boxer briefs, including a gray, white and black pair.

As he flexed his abs and went shirtless, he bravely let huge spiders and snakes crawl on his skin.

To prepare for his campaign, Robert told People that he followed a strict diet and workout routine to be in the best shape.

“I’ve done more sit-ups and had less carbs than I ever have in my life, but it’s been fun,” he said. Robert, who is competing on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, added, “I’m representing Australia! So I wanted to look my best and to feel my best and just feel really confident.”
