Dave Mason will not be touring in 2025 due to “ongoing health issues,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer announced on Tuesday, June 3.

The 78-year-old guitarist, who was a founding member of Traffic, had to postpone his fall 2024 tour after a “serious heart condition” was found during a routine medical check-up in September. Mason hoped to hit the road in the spring and summer, but he “contracted a severe infection” in March and has “courageously” been battling it ever since, according to a press release.

“With deep regret, I must cancel all tour dates for 2025 due to ongoing health issues stemming from the infection I had in March,” Mason said in a statement. “I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors—this has been challenging territory, to say the least.”

Refunds will be made available at the point of sale.

The “We Just Disagree” singer also thanked his fans, family, band and agents, as well as the venues, who have supported him in recent months.

“Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express. Recovery is a long road. My love for you all runs deep,” Mason wrote. “God bless.”

Mason’s music career began in the 1960s. He played on Traffic’s first album, 1967’s Mr. Fantasy. He wrote and sang lead vocals on the English rock band’s song “Feelin’ Alright?” which would later become one of Joe Cocker’s signature songs. Mason also wrote Delaney and Bonnie’s hot “Only You Know and I Know” and had released own hit with “We Just Disagree” in 1977.

Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 as a member of Traffic. He also played with Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Graham Nash, Phoebe Snow and Stephen Stills.

Last year, Mason published his memoir, Only You Know & I Know, and released his 21st solo album, A Shade of Blues, in March.
