Ryan Gosling is grateful to have worked with a legend of film.

Asked about working with Harrison Ford on Blade Runner 2049, the 2017 sequel to Ford's 1982 sci-fi classic, during his appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast, New Heights, the actor, 45, shared, "I always say always say, like, never meet your heroes unless they're Harrison Ford. He's as cool as you want him to be."

Gosling recalled a scene where Ford punches him in the movie.

"He punched me one time in a scene, and then when they brought me ice for my face, he took the ice away out of my hand, and he put his fist in it, and he said, 'I forgive you.' And then when they brought me Advil, I went to take two Advil, and he took the whole thing. He just went and he housed like 15 of them."

"He's not like us," he laughed, recalling a story he heard about Ford making Raiders of the Lost Ark.

"You know when he's riding and his hat kept coming off? When he's riding the horse? He stapled it to his head," Gosling shared as the hosts laughed hysterically.

"They were trying to tape it and he said, 'Forget it, give me a stapler,' and he stapled it to his head,' " he continued, reiterating, He's not like us. He is that guy."

Referencing Ford's role as Han Solo in Star Wars, Gosling said, "That line where Princess Leia says, 'I love you,' and he goes, 'I know.' That's him. He said that. He's the real deal."

In December 2016, Gosling said being punched by Ford was somewhat of a "rite of passage," explaining to GQ that Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve told him right after the hit: "Look at it this way — you just got hit by Indiana Jones!"

The costars laughed about the punch while promoting Blade Runner 2049 on The Graham Norton Show. The host said, "You weren't meant to punch him," and Ford quipped, "Oh, I misread the script."

He further added of the moment, "One out of a hundred times I hit him," to which Gosling joked, "Right, right. I should be lucky I didn't get hit more, is the theme of this narrative."

"It's not just a punch, though. I mean, a Harrison Ford punch is a different animal altogether," said Gosling.
