The actress, who has been married to Brown for 20 years, guest stars on the hit Hulu series
Actress Ryan Michelle Bathe jumped at the chance to guest-star on husband Sterling K. Brown's hit Hulu series, Paradise.
After all, Bathe, who has been married to Brown for 20 years, is already hosting the official podcast for the series, talking to the cast and crew for the second season of the pre-apocalyptic series.
"I'm a huge fan of Sterling K. Brown and have been a fan first and would love to work with him on anything," Bathe tells PEOPLE.

Portraying Stacy, the mentor to pre-bunker assassin Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom), Bathe had to keep the details of her character under wraps until her episode premiered Monday, March 16. "Every single thing that these writers are doing. … This is a basket," she explains. "We are weaving a basket and I am an incredibly beautiful thread in the basket that is Paradise."
Brown, who is also an executive producer for the series, "was very excited" over his wife's casting. "Even though we didn't work together, he was very, very, very excited, and as was I," Bathe says.

Her first day on set "was fun because I got my parking spot in the regular lot and he was like, 'Why'd you park over there?' I was like, 'Because I'm not Sterling K. Brown, sir,'" the actress says, laughing. "So he came and got me and drove around to this whole other lot. He was like, 'Okay, you're with me, kid.'"
In addition to going to work together, the couple has also been making the award show rounds this season, including the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
Bathe has her handbag contents down to a science to survive the night: "I pop an anti-inflammatory before going on the carpet and then I put a little extra in my purse just in case of swelling. It helps with the feet," she says. "A little bit of CBD oil or balm for your hands or feet, hand lotion, a brick for charging, gum and tissues."

Even with all the red carpet glamour, Bathe says a highlight this year was getting to meet Heated Rilvary's Connor Storie.
"I have to say, kudos to me for keeping it together. I just wanted to take him to my bosom, run my fingers to his hair," she says, laughing. So what does her husband think of her fangirling? "He was just mad because we didn't watch it together," she adds. "He's been a little busy. So I told him, 'Don't worry. It's the type of thing that I need to watch at least four more times.'"

Does Bathe, who is celebrating her 20th anniversary with Brown this year, have any tips for a happy marriage?
"I keep telling people the secret is that there is no secret," she says. "You wake up every day and, yes, you choose each other and you choose a future. And maybe that's it too. It doesn't stop at the wedding. It doesn't stop at the kids. It doesn't stop at all of those markers. There's still wonderful things to dream about with the person that you're with."
New episodes of Paradise premiere Mondays on Hulu through March 30.
