Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively seldom miss a chance to cheer on his Wrexham soccer team, and the Saturday, April 26, home game was no exception.
“Let’s g⚽️ boys @wrexham_afc,” Lively, 37, wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday, April 25, smiling in a selfie with husband Reynolds, 48.
In the snap, Lively wore a team-branded baseball cap with a gray sweater, while Reynolds opted for an olive jacket and a pair of reading glasses.
The next day, the married couple hit up the team’s match against Charlton Athletic FC, with Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman also in attendance. At one point, Reynolds sweetly gave his wife a kiss on the forehead as she wrapped her hands around his waist.
Two days before Reynolds and Lively jetted across the pond to Wales for the Wrexham match, they had a rare red carpet date night at the TIME100 gala, where the actress was recognized.
“I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,” Lively said, alluding to her ongoing lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni. “What I will speak to separately, is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today, and since I could speak, because of the pain, cautions and fight of the many women who have paved the way, and the men who stood beside them. Millions I will never know the name of.”
She added, “Because every life, every act, big or small, affects another. … My life was influenced most by my mother, [Elaine], who’s here with me tonight, an eternal optimist who’s always leaving me messages, hoopin’ and hollerin’ sayin’, ‘life’s just a bowl of cherries.’ But, at her urging and unwavering bravery, she wanted me to share with you that she is a survivor of the worst crimes someone can commit against a woman. I’ve watched her conceal her raw and undeserved shame my entire life, so, as her daughter, being asked to share this today is monumental. If we name it, we change it.”
Late last year, Lively accused Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment and trying to ruin her reputation on the set of 2024’s It Ends With Us. Baldoni denied the accusations before filing a multimillion-dollar defamation suit against Lively and Reynolds, who have denied his allegations and each filed to dismiss the motion.
