Sabrina Carpenter isn’t afraid to strip down.
Carpenter, 26, showed off her birthday suit while posing on the cover of Rolling Stone on Thursday, June 12. The singer went completely naked for the photoshoot, covering her body with extra-long, Rapunzel-like locks. Instead of rocking her signature bouncy curls, Carpenter opted for wavy tresses, which cascaded down her back and plunged to the floor. She covered her bum with her hair and wrapped her hands around her chest. Carpenter teamed the nude look with white stockings complete with a lace hem.
Her makeup was just as notable as her hair, donning extra rosy cheeks, long, flirty eyelashes and pink lips. Beside her sat a hookah pipe and white heels. She dramatically gazed towards the ceiling as warm light hit her high points.
Carpenter’s nude photoshoot comes after she faced backlash for her sexy upcoming album cover, Man’s Best Friend, where she was criticized for dressing and posing for the “male gaze.” (ICYMI, Carpenter touched a man’s leg while on all fours as he grabbed her hair for the album cover. Man’s Best Friend is set to release on August 29.)
In her interview with Rolling Stone, the “Taste” singer told the publication that she doesn’t see herself leaving her blonde era anytime soon. Often described as a Polly Pocket due to her platinum locks and petite height — five feet to be exact — blonde has become of Carpenter’s look and persona.
“I’ve tried being brunette, and it didn’t look good on me, so this is what it is,” she quipped. Carpenter was once under fire for being the alleged other woman in Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Driver’s License,” in which Rodrigo sang about her ex Joshua Bassett hanging with “that blonde girl” after her relationship with him ended. Carpenter then went even blonder, but insisted it was unintentional at the time. “All I knew was that it wasn’t going to stop me from doing what I loved, ever. That’s kind of how I’ve always felt,” she explained.
Carpenter added: “Sometimes, it’s about how you are able to be resilient. What that era taught me was to just trust myself, and trust that everything is going to work out the way it’s supposed to, and trust that relationships are put into your life for a reason. You might not see that in the moment, but you see it later.”
