Savannah Chrisley Reacts to Parents Todd and Julie Chrisley Receiving Pardon: ‘Today Is a Victory’

Savannah Chrisley is overjoyed that her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, have been pardoned by President Donald Trump.

“For the past two and a half years, I’ve done everything in my power to fight for my parents’ freedom and bring them home,” Savannah, 27, said in a statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, May 27. “This moment is the answer to countless prayers, and I am beyond grateful to President Trump for seeing the truth and restoring my family.”

Savannah added that the Trump administration “does not hand out favors” and “examines the facts and stands up for what is right” instead. She thanked criminal justice reform advocate Alice Marie Johnson and her parents’ attorney Alex Little for being by her family’s side throughout the difficult situation.

“I also want to thank Alice Marie Johnson for her unwavering support and our attorney, Alex Little, for being an essential part of this process,” she continued. “Today is a victory for our family, but the fight against wrongful convictions and injustice within our prison system is far from over.”

Savannah added that while her parents have been pardoned she plans to continue speaking out on issues that matter to her.

“I will continue to use my voice and platform to advocate for those who do not have one,” she said. “Family is everything to me, and I will never stop fighting for what is right.”

News broke earlier on Tuesday that Todd, 55, and Julie, 52, had received a pardon for their ongoing bank fraud and tax evasion case. Trump, 78, delivered the news of his decision to Savannah via a phone call.

“It’s a terrible thing but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump said to Savannah per a clip shared via X. “I hope we can do it by tomorrow. I don’t know them, but give them my regards. Wish them a good life.”

Months later, both of their sentences were reduced by two years.

Since her parents reported to their respective prisons, Savannah took on being the primary caregiver for her younger siblings Grayson, 18, and Chloe, 11. She also advocated on Todd and Julie’s behalf while they appealed their case. Earlier this year, Savannah claimed that her mom and dad had not spoken in nearly two years. (Todd and Julie share three kids: Savannah, Grayson and Chase Chrisley. Todd is also father to Lindsie Chrisley and Kyle Chrisley whom he shares with ex-wife, Teresa Terry.)

“They don’t get to speak. It’s been two years, and they haven’t spoken a word to each other,” she said in a February interview with People. “They’ve been together almost 30 years, and they’ve never gone a day in their life without being with one another. That’s been a challenge. That should never happen.”
