Savannah Chrisley doesn’t hold anything back on her upcoming return to reality TV, which is starting to worry her.
Savannah and her family put their lives back in front of the cameras for The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, their first since Chrisley Knows Best came to an end after Todd and Julie Chrisley entered prison in January 2023.
On the Aug. 12 episode of Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, the 28-year-old gave fans a candid look at what they can expect from her in the upcoming Lifetime series.
While she’s “excited” that fans are coming into her life again, Savannah is nervous about some of the low moments that the show captured.
“I’m excited, but also just mortified at what an absolute basket case I may look like in one or two episodes,” she said on Unlocked.
While filming the show, she said she “had a full-on mental breakdown over my relationship,” referring to her split from boyfriend Robert Shiver in April.
She was dating the former football player for two years, and said during an episode of her podcast in April that they broke up in March. However, she waited to share the news as she’d wanted to “truly grieve the loss of the relationship that I thought was gonna be where I was for the rest of my life.”
The couple briefly reconciled after her parents were pardoned in May, Savannah revealed earlier this month on her podcast, but then Shiver “ghosted” her, so she “blocked him on everything.”
Life was “falling apart” while the show was filming, Savannah said, all while she was working on freeing her parents from prison.
While dealing with her breakup, she was also adjusting to “being solo” and dealing with “magazine headlines that I got [dragged] into and all the things,” she said on the podcast episode.
“So just be prepared for that, guys,” she warned. “The show is gonna cover it all.”
Since it started as just a catch-up with the family, who are, in Savannah’s words, “an absolute diabolical dumpster fire,” filming wrapped “literally the day before” President Donald Trump issued pardons for Todd, 57, and Julie, 52.
“So we picked right back up on them coming home.”
The series will now give fans an inside look on how Todd and Julie’s pardons came about and what their life looks like after prison.
“I think what’s gonna be so cool about this series is we have lawyers on, investigators on. We take you through all the ins and outs of the case and the trial and immunity deals,” Savannah said. “And then it ends in a full circle moment with my parents coming home.”
“I’m just so excited for you all to see this come to life because I feel like this is the start to something new,” she continued. “But in order for us to have something new, we have to go back and address everything and uncover it and show you guys what happened. So for the show, I’m so, so excited.”
