Selena Gomez opted to pose solo on the 2025 Oscars red carpet — but that doesn’t mean fiancé Benny Blanco wasn’t there to show support.
The Emilia Pérez star, 32, and the record producer, 36, attended the Sunday, March 2, awards show together, where Gomez made a stunning impression in a figure-hugging Ralph Lauren nude gown embellished with crystals. Blanco, however, didn’t join Gomez for photos after he was previously seen escorting her into the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Gomez is set to present during the Oscars ceremony. She is one of the stars of Emilia Pérez, which racked up 13 nominations this year including Best Picture, Actress in a Leading Role for Karla Sofía Gascón, Actress in a Supporting Role for Zoe Saldaña, Best Cinematography, Best Directing, Best Film Editing, Best International Feature Film, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Music (Original Score), Best Music (Original Song), Best Sound and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).
Gomez’s schedule has been filled with awards show appearances in recent months. Blanco accompanied her to the 2025 Golden Globe Awards in January, where she was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Emilia Pérez and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Only Murders in the Building. (She ultimately lost to Saldaña, 46, and Hacks’ Jean Smart in the respective categories.)

One week before the Oscars, Gomez attended the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards without Blanco. While she and her Emilia Pérez costars lost Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture to the stars of Conclave, she and her Only Murders in the Building costars — Steve Martin, Martin Short, Michael Cyril Creighton, Eugene Levy, Molly Shannon, Zach Galifianakis, Richard Kind, Eva Longoria and Kumail Nanjiani — won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for the first time.
In the midst of her thriving career, Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco in December 2024. The couple are also gearing up to release their joint album, I Said I Love You First, on March 21.
Ahead of their new music, Gomez and Blanco reflected on their relationship in an Interview magazine profile published in February.
“It was really simple. We got in the studio to work on a song and we just talked; that’s how easy it was for me. I liked him before he liked me,” Gomez recalled of collaborating with Blanco prior to their dynamic becoming romantic.
Although Blanco didn’t initially realize Gomez’s feelings for him, once he figured it out, he was confident in their connection.
“From then on, it was easy. You know when you think you met the right person, you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ But it feels so different. The second we started hanging out, I was like, ‘This is my wife.’ I was telling my mom, ‘This is the girl I’m going to marry,’” he said. “She’s my best friend.”
