Sharna Burgess Slams ‘Ridiculous’ Criticism About Not Cutting Her Kids’ Hair: ‘I Just Don’t Understand’

Sharna Burgess is not here for the “ridiculous” rumors people have made up about not cutting her children’s hair.

“There’s so much that I’m sure people would love to know about what happens in our household and having such a busy chaotic life, and it’s fun but it’s also just not me,” Burgess, 39, shared on a Wednesday, October 9, episode of the “Between Us Moms” podcast. “I think I want to keep my kids out of that, and I certainly know Brian and Megan want to.”

Burgess shares son Zane, 2, with her fiancé, Brian Austin Green. Green, 51, also shares sons Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8, with ex-wife Megan Fox as well as Kassius, 21, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.

The former Dancing With the Stars pro went on to explain how there are already so many false claims that have come out about her family.

“Like, I’m forcing Zane to be a girl because I haven’t cut his hair yet or the ridiculous people saying that the kids are being forced to be girls. I just don’t understand it,” she explained on the podcast, adding that it would be crazy for them to do an “actual reality show” together. “The attention is just not healthy for our kids and it’s certainly not Brian’s style either.”

Burgess noted that she’s “happy to share” what she thinks is “helpful” — like they do on their “Oldish” podcast – but her home and family are “sacred” to her.

“I wanna protect that as much as possible,” she added.

Burgess has previously slammed critics of Zane’s long hair in July 2023 after she put his coiffure in a top knot.

“I’ve had some people in my DMs that were so passionately angry at me for doing that,” she shared via her Instagram Story video at the time. “I had someone comment on the fact that his hair tie this morning is pink.”

She went on to say that she doesn’t get the whole “pink is for girls” thing and her putting a pink hair tie on Zane doesn’t “symbolize anything.”

“I don’t get this whole ‘long hair is feminine or for girls,’” Burgess explained in the video. “I mean, I’m sorry, have you seen Jason Momoa? I need to do a post [on my Instagram] of all the men that majority of women, and probably majority of men, find attractive and so many of them have long hair. … It is just wild to me that when it’s kids, it’s like we’re pushing some agenda on them. It’s so f—ing dumb!”

While Burgess and Green love parenting together, that doesn’t mean they’re ready to expand their family any further just yet. Green even revealed in January that he got a vasectomy “eight weeks” after welcoming Zane.

“Zane was born and I was like, ‘I think it’s time to close the shop,’” Green explained on an episode of their “Oldish” podcast.

Burgess noted that she was “grateful” that Green chose to get a vasectomy so she no longer felt like she had to take birth control anymore.

“I was really, really grateful for that,” she shared. “It was such a big and beautiful thing he did, and it secures comfort and no stress in our sex life. Not worrying about it, if we are or we aren’t [pregnant], which is such a gift. And we can move forward and plan if that should be in the stars for us at some point.”
