Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Recalls His Days Being ‘Mormon Naughty’ Before First Marriage with Meri

Kody Brown’s romantic history came into question on Sister Wives. 

On the fourth part of Sister Wives: One on One on Sunday, June 15, host Suki Krishna asked the patriarch, 56, if he had “any other sexual experiences” before his first marriage to Meri Brown.

“There were other options that got close,” he said after referring to his past as a high school athlete, adding, “I was a little bit wild, but I wasn’t. I was being Mormon naughty.”

When asked what he meant, he clarified, “It means I would kiss and hug, but no actual intercourse.”

“So that’s like first base, second base, third base, and no home run,” Krishna responded and he confirmed, “No home run.”

After Krishna made another sports analogy about his sex life, Kody halted the conversation.

“You know out of respect for my wife, I’m going to quit discussing this with you. You guys can act like it’s the world’s business,” he said.

“We’re just having some fun,” Krishna said, to which Kody replied, “No, we just crossed the line so it’s done.”

Christine Brown — who was the first wife to leave him in November 2021 — also questioned her ex’s history with his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, before she officially joined the family.

Kody and his second wife Janelle Brown announced their separation in December 2022 and his separation from Meri was confirmed one month later.

“We’ve all seen their engagement photos and I just automatically think, huh, I wonder how close they got before they were married,” Christine said of Kody and Robyn.

When asked if she meant they had sex prior to tying the knot, Christine shared, “Sexual experience, whatever that means. And he was super comfortable in her house, even walking into her bedroom. That’s a lot of speculation.” 

As if Robyn would go there, Christine was non-committal, saying, “Well, I don’t know. That’s just automatically what I’m thinking.”

Christine noted it would have been “just yet another lie.” She added, “They lied about everything, so you know how close they were. The fact that he was always over there, come on. All they did was lie…Just not to be trusted.”

Krishna asked if that would have changed her being welcomed into the family and Christine replied, “If I had known that he had told her things that he never told me, I would just been more hurt. I don’t know if it would have changed [anything]. Who knows?”

“But that’s heartbreaking to hear now. I’m not even married to him anymore. That’s like, what a slap in the face? Really? Come on,” she added. “So he’s bringing that up just to, she’s better than you…Compare, compare, compare.”

Robyn was quick to shut down Christine’s notion and claimed there was no sex before marriage.

“He didn’t kiss me until he asked me to marry him,” she said of Kody. “And it wasn’t a kiss, it was a stamp. You know, his face smashed mine. That was it, you know, it wasn’t anything super sexy.”

Of the pair’s first kiss, she recalled, “He asked me to marry him. And we’re sitting in his little fun sports car ’cause he can’t live without him. And I said yes. And then he grabbed my face, went bam, like kiss me, bam.”

“It was like this is now a done deal,” she added. “We are engaged.”

When asked if the pair engaged in “any naughtiness afterwards,” she said, “There were chase kisses, little church kisses. But yeah, that’s it.”

She directly responded to Christine wondering if there was “more than just a kiss” by saying, “Oh, no, no, no, nothing. Little church kisses. Something you can do in front of your pastor, your Bishop or something.”
