Sofia Vergara is back to her best!
The Modern Family star, 53, pulled out all the stops for her appearance at the semi-finals of season 20 of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Hotel Dena in Pasadena, California. The AGT judge looked lovely in a monochrome strapless jumpsuit bedazzled with shimmering stars. Keeping the rest of her look neutral, she wore her brunette hair down in loose waves and minimal make-up.
Vergara’s appearance came just four days after a medical emergency forced her to pull out of presenting duties at the 2025 Emmys.
The star had been slated to present an award at the show, which took place at the Peacock Theater in L.A., but instead spent the night in the emergency room.
“Didn’t make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER 🤣😩,” Vergara shared on Instagram to explain her absence from the event. She shared a carousel of her swollen, sore-looking left eye, writing, “Sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car! 🤣🤣.”
Vergara also shared a video of herself lying in a hospital bed, and another clip as she rinsed out her eye with water in a hospital sink.
The Griselda star wasn’t the only person who didn’t make it to the event. Eric Dane was also named as a presenter but did not appear. The 52-year-old actor, who has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), was slated to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of Grey’s Anatomy but was absent on the evening.

While Vergara looked gorgeous at the AGT semi-finals, back in July the actress left a little more to the imagination as she celebrated ‘International Bikini Day’ in nothing but a thong!
She shared a clip of herself sunbathing on July 5 to celebrate the holiday. Despite the festivity being all about sexy two-pieces, Vergara decided to strip things all the way down to nothing but a cheeky thong bikini bottom. As for the rest of her “outfit”? Well, the star decided to go topless, for the clip, filmed on a yacht in the middle of the ocean.
“Happy international bikini day from Ibiza,” she captioned the post.
In her 2024 PEOPLE Beautiful Issue cover interview, the actress revealed what makes her feel the most empowered and beautiful as she’s getting older.
“Now that I’m older, it’s great, because you know exactly what you like, what looks good on you, what doesn’t look good on you. I don’t do what is in fashion. I just do what feels good, makes me feel confident and beautiful,” she said.
