Southern Hospitality stars Emmy Sharrett and Will Kulp are engaged — quieting haters and surprising fans.
The couple announced the big news via Instagram on Friday, May 9, sharing photos from the romantic proposal that took place on Monday, May 5.
Will, 31, popped the question while he and Emmy, 27, were on vacation just outside of Saint Tropez, France, at the Lily of the Valley Hotel, according to People.
“He is my best friend and soulmate,” Emmy gushed to the outlet of her now-fiancé. “I love that we get to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Will and Emmy are set to celebrate four years together this October after meeting at an F45 gym in Charleston, South Carolina. Will was Emmy’s trainer when they met, and they later became coworkers at Republic Garden & Lounge, which is how fans were introduced to them during season 1 of Southern Hospitality in 2022.
When the show premiered, Emmy was a VIP hostess at the nightclub run by Southern Charm’s Leva Bonaparte and Will was a bartender, preparing to go to law school.

During their time on reality TV, Emmy and Will’s relationship has come under fire after the University of South Carolina law student was accused of infidelity. During season 2 of the series, Will was accused of kissing another woman but denied the allegations.
The couple faced similar claims during season 3, after Will allegedly hooked up with someone in a bathroom at law prom. Despite all the criticism, Emmy was adamant that Will was “110 percent” faithful to her.
“I do not believe Will cheated on me at all for one second,” Emmy exclusively told Us Weekly in January after being confronted on screen about the alleged infidelity.
While Will refused to speak about the cheating rumors on multiple occasions, he did take responsibility for speaking negatively about Emmy at Republic. (Will, however, chose to skip the season 3 reunion in February, leaving Emmy alone to defend their romance.)
“Will and I had our own conversation about it where he was incredibly apologetic and embarrassed, and he knew it was inappropriate,” Emmy explained to Us earlier this year.

As Will and Emmy weathered backlash for how they navigated their relationship on camera, Emmy told Us she was confident he was The One.
“Will has a three-year plan because he’s in school, so it only makes sense to then build a plan off of that as far as our relationship goes,” she said in January, noting that “realistically this would be the year that he would propose.”
Emmy added that since Will graduates from law school in 2026 that the couple would most likely get married “summer [or] fall” of that year before he was a full-fledged attorney.
