It was a home run day for a group of adoptable dogs from Irving Animal Services in Irving, Texas.
On Aug. 4, 10 lucky canines from the Texas shelter were tapped to attend a Major League Baseball game at Globe Life Field in Arlington between the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers.
The dogs were treated to tickets to the game by the Rangers in celebration of Clear the Shelters Presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition. The annual campaign, which runs through August, sees NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations partnering with hundreds of shelters and rescues around the country to highlight adoptable pets and raise money for animal welfare causes.
Now in its 12th year, the program has found homes for more than 1.3 million pets, including 160,000 animals in 2025. Irving Animal Services has been a shelter partner of Clear the Shelters since the program began, making it an obvious choice for this precious perk.

Thanks to the Rangers, the 10 adoptable pooches, shelter volunteers, and staff members attended the game for free and were treated to an array of classic baseball snacks. The Aug. 4 game was a “Bark in the Park” event, which means all attendees had the opportunity to bring their dog, so the crowd was full of animal lovers — perfect for pups looking for forever families.

“These dogs deserve a fun night out, so I’m thrilled to be here to support their experience at the baseball game and take portraits of them to help them find their forever homes. Our mission is to help shelter pets make a stronger first impression, and teaming up with Clear The Shelters will allow us to help even more shelter pets,” Adam Goldberg, founder of Stronger Shot Adoption Photos, shared.
