As Summer House fans know, the drama doesn’t stop when the cameras aren’t rolling.
During the Wednesday, April 9, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, season 9 newbie Lexi Wood was asked for her thoughts on a recent photo of Jesse Solomon playfully holding hands with costar Paige DeSorbo.
“I think Jesse should do whatever Jesse wants to do,” Lexi, 27, told Andy Cohen.
One day prior, Jesse, 31, shared pics from a visit to West Wilson‘s Complex office with some of their Summer House costars, including Paige, 32. “Thanks for having us West,” he captioned the Instagram post. “Also, Paige and I are ready to take our relationship public. Love you my sweet petunia.”
Jesse and Paige stood next to one another in the first of the two photos. The second pic in the slideshow was a zoomed-in version, emphasizing that the pair’s hands were touching.
Paige played along in the comments section but shut down any possible theories about her status with Jesse. “This is how rumors start,” she teased.
Since the new season of Summer House premiered in February, viewers have seen sparks fly between Lexi and Jesse. However, Jesse’s behavior during a weekend when Lexi was out of town caused some trouble in paradise. Not only was Jesse caught flirting with Ciara Miller, but he also got his toe sucked by a woman costar Imrul Hassan was having a threesome with.
When asked about the debacle now known as “ToeGate,” Lexi admitted that she thinks there’s more to the story. “I don’t believe it was only a toe,” she said on WWHL, adding that she’s noticed “red flags” while watching the episodes back.
Jesse’s history with Paige began when he joined the Summer House cast for season 8 and immediately tried to make a move. At the time, Paige was still dating her now-ex Craig Conover. (The pair ended their three-year relationship before the 2024 holidays.)
Following Paige’s breakup, some fans were curious whether she and Jesse would become an item. Costar Kyle Cooke, however, thinks Ciara would make a better match for Jesse.
“Once you film with someone, I feel like that might complicate a relationship. It’s just a very unique environment. but I’d ship it,” Kyle exclusively told Us Weekly last month. “I think a lot of people would ship Jesse and Ciara. I’d probably ship Jesse and Ciara more than Jesse and Paige.”
Kyle noted that it wasn’t hard to pick up on the chemistry between Jesse and Ciara while rewatching the events of last summer. “Watching it back, I was with the rest of the audience,” he told Us. “I was like, ‘Oh damn.’ I was in my own little world at that party, DJing and running around in a shark costume. So I didn’t really pick up on the sexual tension, but I was like, ‘OK!’”
