Soap opera icon Susan Lucci says Michael B. Jordan is among the actors she's most enjoyed worked alongside.

Lucci played Erica Kane on the ABC daytime soap opera during its entire network run, from 1970 to 2011. Jordan, now 38, portrayed Reggie Montgomery, the adopted son of Kane's love interest Jack Montgomery, from 2003 to 2006.

Speaking on the Thurs., Feb. 5 episode of the I Choose Me With Jennie Garth podcast, 79-year-old Lucci was asked who she most recalls "working beside or watching" during her run on All My Children.

"Michael B. Jordan," Lucci recalled. "Really, Michael. Because Michael was the stepson of [character] Jack Montgomery, and [Lucci's character] Erica and Jack had a long, long romantic history together. And so, I was working with Michael … numerous times during the week. And he was 16."

Lucci continued: "Michael B. Jordan was 16 when he began on All My Children. I would just tell you, he was always so wonderful to work with. He was prepared, he was on time, he was committed, he was sweet, he was respectful to everyone around him — cast, crew, producers, everybody, you name it. But not nauseously so, you know, not phony baloney. He was authentically who he was."

"He was a genuinely terrific young man," Lucci added.

Jordan’s role on All My Children was initially played by the late Chadwick Boseman, who was allegedly let go after voicing his concerns that Reggie’s character relied too much on racial stereotypes. Jordan and Boseman would later star together in 2018’s Black Panther and become friends.

Jordan's time on the series followed his breakout role as Wallace on The Wire.

The actor wasn't the only big name to get his start on All My Children, with the actor appearing on the show alongside Amanda Seyfried, who shared that he was her first on-screen kiss.

Seyfried, 40, reflected on her life and career in an interview with W Magazine published Jan. 7, saying, “We were so young. I think he was 15, and I was 16 or 17. Michael was always really good.”

“It’s interesting to think back that long ago and to see that we’re both still as passionate as ever about what we do as actors,” Seyfried, who was with the series from 2002 to 2003, said. “I like that trajectory.”

In November 2025, Jordan opened up to PEOPLE about his past on the soap and how it affected his career. He said one of the biggest surprises of his Hollywood journey is "my time that I spent on soap operas."

"I never knew how many casting directors and executives in Hollywood would tell me, 'Oh man, my wife really loves you.' Or like, 'Oh, she watches you all the time on the stories. … Come in for this and read for that,' " he said.
