Tarek El Moussa makes mistakes like the rest of us, but one was almost deadly — and you’ll never expect why.
In a behind-the-scenes clip of an upcoming episode of The Flip Off posted on TikTok and Instagram, the real estate investor, 43, revealed that he accidentally once called his current wife Heather Rae El Moussa, 37, by his ex-wife Christina Haack’s name.
Tarek makes the admission after one of his contractors, Bryan, calls Heather by Christina’s name.
“What did you call her?” Tarek jokingly prods the contractor. “One more time. Say it for us.”
“Christina!” an exasperated Heather chimes in.
“Ohhhh s—,” Tarek replies. “I did that one time. I’m lucky to be alive.”

“I’m sure you’ve done it more than one time,” Bryan tells Tarek, to which he responds, “No, just once. It was more than enough.”
Heather explains that it occurred at “the beginning of our relationship and he got cut.”
The video ends with Heather asking, “What are we getting for free?” Bryan says, “Nothing … you get my excellent work and attention.”
While Christina, 41, didn’t appear in the clip, she is part of the HGTV competition series that follows Team Haack and Team El Moussa as they renovate houses to sell them for a large profit.
She initially filmed the show alongside Josh Hall before their divorce filing in July 2024 after almost three years of marriage. It is unclear if he will be featured in any episode after he was removed from the show’s promo photos released in December 2024.
It’s not the first time Christina has appeared on television with Tarek. They previously co-hosted the hit HGTV series Flip or Flop, which ended after 10 seasons in 2022.
The former couple tied the knot in April 2009 and announced they were separating after seven years of marriage in December 2016. Their divorce was finalized in January 2018.
They share two children, 14-year-old daughter Taylor and 9-year-old son Brayden. Christina is also a mom to 5-year-old Hudson, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Ant Anstead. The two tied the knot in December 2018 and announced they were separating in September 2020. Their divorce was finalized in June 2021.
Tarek and Heather tied the knot in October 2021. They welcomed their first child together, son Tristan, in February 2023.
Christina is currently in a relationship with Network Connex CEO and president Christopher Larocca.
