  • Her treatment plan so far has included brain surgery, raditation and immunotherapy
  • The reality star is now experiencing hair loss from her treatment and asked followers for wig recommendations

Teddi Mellencamp is looking for wig recommendations amid her treatment for stage 4 cancer.

On Sunday, April 6, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum posted a selfie on Instagram. The 43-year-old, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after her melanoma metastasized to her brain and lungs, had previously shaved her head into a buzz cut before surgery. Now, she is revealing that the brain tumor treatment is causing hair loss.

“The other side of my head is completely bald. Please refer your fave non-itchy or hot wigs,” she wrote. “Dear half-wig/half-baseball caps from Amazon… let’s do better. I was so excited for you. You hurt my feelings.”

In the comments section, Mellencamp received many supportive messages from fans and fellow stars. Bachelor in Paradise star Ashley Iaconetti wrote, “Thinking about you every day! You look gorgeous!”

Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola said, “YOU are beautiful ❤️ sending you so much love 😘”

“Warriors/Survivors don’t need wigs. You are a ROCKSTAR!! Praying for you!” another fan commented.

Mellencamp announced in February that doctors found multiple tumors on her brain after she was struggling with “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks. She had four large tumors surgically removed on Feb. 12 and shared that her “smaller” tumors would be treated with radiation and immunotherapy.

Last week, Mellencamp confirmed that her cancer has reached stage 4 after her melanoma — which she was first diagnosed with in 2022 — metastasized to her brain and lungs.

“Some days I feel really really strong and some days I feel really really sad and alone,” she said. “And I think that’s a normal part of what any of us are going through, and that’s okay. Stage 4 cancer can be scary.”

“I kinda thought that I had already beaten it,” the reality star admitted as her voice started to shake. “And then a couple days later, I found out I had four more tumors. So there’s so many different highs and lows.”

Despite the disappointing health update, Mellencamp hit a milestone in her cancer journey on April 3, sharing a video on her Instagram Stories ringing the hospital bell as she finished her radiation treatment.

“I’ve got my graduation papers,” she told the camera before reading the plaque underneath the bell. “The good luck bell. Ring this bell three times well, it’s told to clearly say my treatment’s done, the course is run, and I am on my way.”

“Woo!” she said, ringing the bell as people in the background clapped and cheered. “We made it, guys.”

“Ringing the bell can signify a major phase of treatment — Today was my last day of radiation. 5 more rounds of immunotherapy to go. Love you all for the kind messages,” Mellencamp captioned the video.
