Teddi Mellencamp’s ex-husband Edwin Arroyave is still there for her during hard times.
Hours after Mellencamp revealed that she would be undergoing surgery to remove tumors found on her brain, Arroyave stepped in to support her. In a photo posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 12, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star put her arm around Arroyave from her hospital bed while prepping for the procedure.
“Jeremiah 17:14: Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise,” Arroyave wrote in the caption. “Lord, I lift up @teddimellencamp to You. You are the Great Healer, and I ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Restore her strength, renew her spirit, and let her feel Your comforting presence. Grant her peace, hope, and full recovery. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
He also took to his Instagram Stories to share a sweet clip with one of the three children he shares with Mellencamp. In the video, he explained that he would be sleeping in the hospital room.
“Are you gonna watch mama because she doesn’t like sleeping alone?” their daughter wondered, going on to ask if Mellencamp wanted to watch TV.
“Thanks for visiting us,” he said.
Mellencamp was also documenting the day on her own social media. In one Instagram Stories post, she showed RHOBH costar Kyle Richards with country singer Morgan Wade by her side.
“Here we go,” Mellencamp declared as she revealed she was headed to the operating room in 10 minutes.
Richards then posted a photo of Mellencamp praying with the caption: “Love you @teddimellencamp 🙏🩷”
That morning, the accountability coach announced that a CT scan discovered “multiple tumors on my brain, which [doctors] believe have been growing for at least 6 months.”
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” she wrote of what led her to get checked out. “Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.
“Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today. The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date,” she added. “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
She followed it up with videos of her head getting shaved, joking that it was her “best look!”

In November, Mellencamp filed for divorce from Arroyave after 13 years of marriage. In the months since, they have opened up about the decision and explained that they are still good friends.
Mellencamp even posted for their anniversary two months after their split, praising Arroyave for everything he brought into her life.
“16 years ago me and @edwinarroyaveofficial met,” the caption began. “I will forever be grateful for that night at Coco Deville. I would never have known I wanted kids until meeting my amazing stepdaughter, Isabella.”
“My love for her changed my life and 5 years later came Slate, then Cruz, and then our miracle baby Dove in 2020,” she continued. “I may be far from perfect but being a mother has been the greatest gift you could have given me. Thank you always and forever.”
