The Bachelor’s Ben Higgins and Wife Jessica Clarke Welcome First Baby Together, a Girl

Ben Higgins is officially a dad!

The former Bachelor, 35, and his wife, Jessica Clarke, have welcomed their first baby together and shared the news on Instagram.

“Update and more to come, but baby girl Higgins has entered the world,” Higgins wrote next to a photo of himself looking emotional as he stared at his newborn daughter. Clarke held their baby as she laid in a hospital bed.

“She is healthy. @jessclarke_ is doing so well. I don’t yet have words for what just happened but the update right now is we have a daughter and Jess is recovering so well. The nurses and doctors who cared for us should be lifted high,” Higgins wrote.

The reality star said that while he is “biased,” his “baby girl” is “real beautiful.”

Being that her face was covered with an emoji he added, “this beauty will be revealed soon but first she needs a bath.”

In August, the couple announced that Clarke was pregnant and expecting a girl in a heartfelt Instagram Reel.

The video — which the couple shared jointly on their respective Instagram accounts — featured clips of different moments in the pair’s relationship, including their engagement, scenes from their wedding and sweet footage of them hugging.

“The next chapter of our love story! Baby girl coming in February ❤️,” the pair captioned the video, teasing the baby’s due date.

In December 2024, Higgins spoke with PEOPLE at his baby shower about becoming a girl dad, saying that he’s been getting a little more nervous as he gets closer to welcoming his daughter.

“It’s frightening,” he said of raising a daughter, adding that he’s a “sensitive dude” who knows “a girl’s going to break me and I don’t know in what ways yet, but it’s going to happen and I’m prepared for it.”

He went on to share his excitement, sweetly telling PEOPLE, “I’m ready to be the guy that she leans on to talk to about boys, and I’m ready to be the example for who she desires in a relationship and I’m excited about that responsibility. It gives me a little role, I think, in a new stage of life.”

“But it’s also frightening because I know she’s going to have me wrapped around her finger and I’m going to get broken,” added the Almost Famous podcast host.

Higgins and Clarke tied the knot in November 2021 in a romantic ceremony at The Estate in Cherokee Dock near Nashville.

Guests included fellow Bachelor franchise alums such as Nick Viall, Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs, Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconnetti, and Wells Adams, who also served as a groomsman.
