NEED TO KNOW

  • Isa Briones will replace Sarah Hyland as Connie Francis in Just in Time starting April 1
  • Briones previously starred in Hadestown on Broadway
  • Just in Time features Bobby Darin’s hits and has been a box office success since opening in March 2025

Isa Briones is heading back to Broadway.

The Pitt star will join the cast of the Bobby Darin bio musical Just in Time beginning Wednesday, April 1 at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York City.

Briones will take over the role of singer Connie Francis from Sarah Hyland, who plays her final performance on Sunday, March 29.

The actress currently stars as Dr. Trinity Santos on the HBO Max series The Pitt, for which she and her castmates recently won The Actor Award — formerly known as the SAG Award — for Ensemble in a Drama Series.

She's not the only member of The Pitt who will be on the boards this season either. Patrick Ball, who plays Dr. Santos' rival Dr. Frank Langdon, is making his Broadway debut in Becky Shaw, the razor-sharp dark comedy from two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo.

Briones, 27, made her Broadway debut in 2024, starring as Eurydice in Hadestown opposite her father, stage vet Jon Jon Briones, as Hermes. Her additional stage credits include last season's Off-Broadway hit All Night, the first national touring company of Hamilton, Musical Theatre West’s Grease and East West Players’ Next to Normal, which earned her an L.A. Ovation Award.

On screen, she's also been seen in the Disney+ series Goosebumps, the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard and FX’s American Crime Story: Versace.

Her casting is part of a series of upcoming transitions in the Just In Time's company.

Tony winner Jonathan Groff currently stars as Bobby Darin through March 29. Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Matthew Morrison will play the role in a strictly limited three-week engagement beginning April 1, before two-time Tony nominee and Grammy nominee Jeremy Jordan takes over starting April 21.

Elsewhere in the cast, Tony winner Michele Pawk will play her final performance as Polly on March 29, with Tony and Grammy winner Debbie Gravitte stepping into the role beginning April 1. Sadie Dickerson will play her final performance as Sandra Dee on April 19, with Carrie St. Louis assuming the role beginning April 21.

Just in Time tells the story of legendary singer Bobby Darin, tracing his rise from teen idol to global sensation during a short but remarkable life. The musical is set inside an intimate nightclub environment and features a live band performing Darin’s hits, including “Beyond the Sea,” “Mack the Knife,” “Splish Splash” and “Dream Lover.”

Developed and directed by Tony winner Alex Timbers, the production features a book by Tony winner Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver. It's been a box office smash since it began performances on March 31, 2025, and is currently scheduled to run through Sept. 6, 2026.

Tickets to Just in Time are on sale now.
