Jax Taylor has returned to The Valley.
The Tuesday, June 17, episode of the Bravo reality show follows Taylor, 45, as he gets picked up from rehab by costar Jesse Lally after his 30-day stay for mental health and addiction struggles.
“I didn’t think I was going to be able to, but I did it,” Taylor told Lally in the car. “I got a lot of feelings because I know I’m walking into a s— storm. But it’s all about how I handle it. My anger has been such an issue my whole life.”
In a confessional, Taylor said that he felt “safe” in rehab and like “nobody can hurt me.”
“Then, you walk out the doors, and it’s like, life just hits you,” he said. “Now, okay, I got to remember everything that I’ve learned, I got to move into this new place, I got to see my son, I got to face everybody. It’s a lot to take in at once. I just don’t want to go back into my old ways, because it’s very easy to slip.”
Taylor added that he had a “really eye-opening experience” during his stay.
“I was being reckless with myself,” he said. “I was absolutely in denial. It was a really humbling experience after realizing what I did.”
Lally then brought Taylor to the home he shared with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright and their son Cruz, 4, to pick up his belongings, which Cartwright put in trash bags.
“I’m not taking anything from his home,” Taylor told Lally, 44. “Brittany needs to know this house needs to go on the market right now. No woman needs a five-bedroom house, seven bath. You are a woman with a child, get something like a three-bedroom that’s manageable as a woman.”
Later in the episode, Taylor was seen showing his new condo to his pal — and now-next door neighbor — Tom Schwartz.
“It’s been 10 years since I lived by myself,” Taylor said. “I’m excited, nervous. It’s definitely my dream scenario … I just got out of rehab, trying to rebuild myself. I need somebody there to talk to, lean on. I can’t think of a better person than Tom Schwartz. He’s my best friend.”
When Taylor received a knock on the door of his condo, he opened it, and a man told him he’s been “served” while handing him a manila envelope with divorce papers inside.
Schwartz, 42, looked at the papers for Taylor and told him Cartwright, 36, had requested that they settle their divorce “amicably,” “expeditiously,” “out of court” and with “minimal cost to both parties.”
“Dude, this is great,” Schwartz said. “Expeditiously and out of court is huge. In terms of divorces, that’s a love letter.”
During a confessional, Taylor said getting the divorce papers was “f—— hard.”
“Imagine coming out of a facility, dealing with your mental health issues and then being slammed with divorce papers,” he said. “And then, on top of it, it going public before you’ve even had the time to digest it. It’s hard.”
“Getting those divorce papers, it’s devastating,” he continued. “We’re both so hurt. We both hurt each other so much in the last couple of years. We don’t have anything left.”
The episode concluded with Taylor somberly referencing the Vanderpump Rules theme song as he said, “It’s safe to say that these are no longer the best days of our lives.”
