Karen Silva, who competed on the spinoff series The Voice Kids Brazil, has died after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. She was 17.

The singer’s rep announced her death on Instagram April 24. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the young singer Karen Silva, at the age of 17,” read the Portuguese-language message, shared on the artist’s page, “after days of hospitalization at the São João Batista Hospital in Volta Redonda, as a result of a hemorrhagic stroke.”
