Aimee Lou Wood isn’t letting anyone take a bite out of her self-confidence.
The White Lotus star—who plays Chelsea on season three of the HBO Max anthology series—shared how she learned to accept that her teeth didn’t quite look like those of most people she saw onscreen.
“A big thing for me growing up was my mouth,” Aimee shared in a March 3 video on her Instagram, “because it was the thing that everyone pointed out, and it was the thing that made me different.”
Aimee went on to explain that she had “never seen an actress on TV with teeth like mine.” At least, not until Georgia May Jagger—the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall—started appearing in commercials for Rimmel London makeup in 2009.
“When Georgia Jagger did ‘get the London look’ and she had the gap teeth, that was a huge moment,” she said before explaining how it encouraged her own self-confidence, “I thought ‘No, I am going to put red lipstick on and I am going to draw attention to it.’”
