This Steve Carell Series Is Netflix’s Most Popular Show Right Now — Is It Worth Watching?

Netflix is full of shows that tickle your funny bone or move you to tears — so many that it’s sometimes hard to know what to watch.

When a new series like The Four Seasons drops, you’re often left wondering if it’s worth your time. With a cast that includes Tina Fey, Steve Carell and two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, it certainly seems like a worthy show to watch on a lazy weekend. But even a show with a great cast can be disappointing. (Anyone remember Maniac with Emma Stone? Better yet, don’t.)

That’s why Watch With Us is breaking down everything you need to know about The Four Seasons and whether or not it’s worth your time.

Who Created Netflix’s ‘The Four Seasons’?

The Four Seasons is based on a 1981 film of the same name, directed by and starring Alan Alda. This television version was created by Tina Fey (30 Rock), Lang Fisher (Never Have I Ever) and Tracey Wigfield (Great News, Peacock’s Saved By The Bell reboot).

Both the movie and show versions of The Four Seasons are about three couples who have a tradition of going on quarterly vacations together. But their group’s dynamic is thrown into chaos when one husband (Steve Carell) announces he is leaving his wife of 25 years.

So, Should You Watch Netflix’s ‘The Four Seasons’?

The Four Seasons is definitely a must-watch for people aged 40 to 65 with a tight-knit circle of friends. You’ll find the ups and downs of the three couples intensely relatable and engaging.

If you don’t fit into that demographic, it’s still worth a watch. The Four Seasons isn’t revolutionary or groundbreaking, but it works. Don’t expect 30 Rock-level zaniness — the tone is more in line with some of Steve Carell’s most beloved dramedies like Crazy, Stupid, Love or Little Miss Sunshine. If that’s your jam, then The Four Seasons is for you.
