Tim Tebow is sharing a special detail about his newborn daughter.
The former NFL player, 37, and his wife Demi-Leigh Tebow, 29, welcomed their first baby together on Sunday, July 6, the couple announced in an Instagram post on Monday, July 7 — and now, the couple has shared their baby girl’s name.
In an Instagram post shared later on Monday, the couple announced that their daughter’s name is Daphne Reign.
Demi-Leigh shared that they were influenced by some very important people in their lives when they decided on Daphne’s name.
“Daphne is a name that’s been close to my heart since I was a little girl. I never got to meet my mom’s mother, but her sister, Daphne, stepped in as a grandma figure to me,” the new mom wrote alongside a collection of photos of her baby girl, including shots of herself and the Denver Broncos alum holding their newborn.
“She was so special to my mom and I — a tiny, kind and strong South African woman who always had shortbread in the house, was the epitome of grit and grace, loved Jesus, had the voice of an angel and made everyone feel seen and special.”
“I used to tell my mom, ‘I want to be just like Ouma Daphne one day,’ ” Demi-Leigh continued. “I’ve loved this name since I was a little girl and for as long as I can remember I always said that if I ever get blessed with a daughter, I’ll name her Daphne. Shortly after Tim and I got married, I shared that desire with him, and thankfully he loved the name just as much as I did!”
The NFL star and his wife also opened up about how their faith influenced Daphne’s middle name, Reign.
“It’s a name that holds so much meaning,” Demi-Leigh wrote. “It’s inspired by a precious little girl Tim and I have loved deeply for years. Her story has shaped our hearts in ways I can’t even begin to explain. But more than anything, her name reminds us that when you’re adopted into God’s family, you become a child of the King. You were made to rule and reign—not in power, but in purpose, love, and identity.”
The couple’s joint post also featured a photo of a birth announcement card with all of their newborn’s info. She was born 8.85 pounds and 21 inches on Sunday, July 6.
“So here she is — our daughter. Our answered prayer. Daphne Reign Tebow — created in the image of God. Royalty as His princess,” the new mom finished. “Our biggest prayer over her is to reign in God’s purpose for her life.”

Tim and Demi-Leigh, who first met in 2018 and wed in January 2020, are ready to take the “deep friendship” and “roots” they’ve built in their relationship and bring what they’ve learned from the last five years into parenthood.
In March, the couple announced the exciting news on Instagram that they were expecting a baby girl. The black-and-white Reel began with the couple giving their last guesses before blindfolding themselves and dipping paintbrushes into pink paint. After filling the entire canvas, the two took off their blindfolds and the Reel turned to color as they revealed they were expecting a girl.
“Baby Tebow is a…GIRL! 🎀🩷🕊️,” Demi-Leigh and Tim wrote at the time. “Our greatest blessing. We’ve been praying for her long before we knew her, and we’re beyond grateful that God chose us to be her parents. We can’t wait to meet you, baby girl! 🥹.”
