Tom Pelphrey “felt a sense of home” while filming his new HBO series, Task.
During a PEOPLE in 10 interview about Task, the actor, 43, revealed that his fiancée, Kaley Cuoco, 39, and their daughter, Matilda, 2, visited him on the set of his show, which was primarily filmed in Delaware County, Pa.
“This was one of the great things about the job — where we were filming, I rented a house and Kaley and Matilda were with me, but also my family’s so close that they could come and visit,” Pelphrey says.
The Ozark alum continues, “My mom came at least once a week. Grandma got to see Matilda, Matilda loves her grandma. My grandmother got to come, so Matilda got to spend time with her great-grandma.”
Pelphrey — who was born and raised nearby in Howell Township, N.J., before attending college in-state at Rutgers — also said aunts, other relatives and close friends visited him on set or at the rented house.
“I’m still close with a lot of the guys I’ve known since I was 3 years old,” he says. “It was a very special job in that sense. I really felt a sense of home.”
Matilda previously experienced her first on-set visit in July 2024 when she joined Cuoco during a filming session. At the time, she was 15 months old.

In an Instagram post of the moment, Cuoco wrote, “When your little lady visits you at work for the first time, it deserves a permanent post. I dreamed of the classic ‘baby on camera‘ pic since the day she was born. Maybe she will share this pic in 20 years when she is on the Late Show.”
Pelphrey and Cuoco, who were set up by their mutual manager, welcomed Matilda in March 2023 and then got engaged in August 2024.
Pelphrey’s Task premiered on HBO on Sept. 7. The logline for the show reads: “Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Pelphrey).”
New episodes of Task will be released on HBO every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. They will also simultaneously be available to stream on HBO Max.
